To commemorate Oxford United’s 125th Anniversary the ‘Yellow Army’ are holding a charity walk in aid of Oxford United Community Trust and Oxfordshire Mind.
On Saturday 27th October the ‘Yellow Army’ will be walking from the very place the club was founded, The Britannia Inn in Headington, to their current home, The Kassam Stadium.
The walk will set off around 11am and get to the ground around 12:30pm. Oxford will be playing at 3pm against Shrewsbury Town and there are other events organised by the club on the same day.
Simon Hathaway, an Oxford United fan and ‘Yellow Army’ event organiser said: “The Yellow Army decided to raise money for Oxfordshire Mind because of the great work they do locally helping people with mental illness. The ‘On Your Side’ campaign with the EFL is raising awareness and understanding of mental health issues. The fact that suicide is the biggest killer of men aged 20-49 is something that needs to be addressed, and helping Oxfordshire Mind was something that we felt was very important.”
We would like to say a very big thank you to the ‘Yellow Army’ for choosing Oxfordshire Mind and we look forward to supporting you with your fundraising!
