Movember is an annual charity event started in 2004, and now promoted around the world in places like Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Israel as well as South Africa, Taiwan and the United States.
Movember Foundation runs the Movember event whose ultimate goal is to ‘change the face of men’s health.’ This is an event where men grow moustaches in the month of November to raise awareness of men’s mental health issues such as men’s suicide, testicular cancer and prostate cancer.
It is well known that men can feel an expectation to live up to a certain societally generated macho image and can be hesitant to seek support for both their physical and mental health.
