Antenatal and Postnatal exercise and wellbeing courses

Oxfordshire Mind, in partnership with Best Beginnings are launching a free range of four week courses to support those who are expecting a baby or have given birth to a baby at least 6 weeks ago.

The Antenatal course (pre-birth) will be aimed at inactive women who have a mental health need and feel able to engage with the course.

The Postnatal course (after birth) will be aimed at women who have given birth at least 6 weeks ago, who are inactive, have a mental health need and feel able to engage with the course. Based on an early intervention approach, priority will be given to those with a baby under 1 years of age.

Both courses will have a wellbeing workshop, and gentle exercise session for each weekly session.

How to join

If you feel you would like to attend the either course please speak with your midwife or another similar professional who is supporting you and they can contact Oxfordshire Mind by emailing [email protected] for a referral form, for you to fill in together.

Dates of courses

The first 2 courses will be offered by Zoom. This will be reviewed for the remaining 4 courses in 2022, which may be offered in person dependent on feedback from attendees, demand and the current Covid 19 guidance.

Antenatal course

The pre-birth course will run on Mondays 10am – 12pm via zoom. Monday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th February.

Postnatal course

The after-birth course will run on Mondays 10am -12pm via zoom. Monday 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st January 2022.
