A mental health conference for anyone working with children and young people
We are delighted to be hosting this informative, innovative and inspiring event. We have all waited a long time to come together with the shared goal of supporting and improving the mental health of Oxfordshire’s young people, given the uncertain and challenging time we’ve all lived through since the last conference.
Topics covered at Youth in Mind are supremely relevant for those working to support the county’s children, young people and families. Drawing on cutting edge research and the lived experience of young people, our one-day conference will also equip you with resources and toolkits to invigorate your practice.
Youth in Mind kicks off with a panel discussion entitled, ‘The Mental Health Landscape Reimagined – a reflective discussion welcoming new ways of working’. Following on from that, we pack in an innovative presentation from county leaders, professional dance company Body Politic performing live, a choice of 16 workshops, our wellbeing area, opportunities to explore over 60 exhibition stands and an exclusive music performance.
This event will be COVID secure, and we will adhere to any relevant changes in guidance as planning progresses.
Exhibit at Youth in Mind
Hosting a stall at Youth in Mind is great value for money, the large market place was buzzing last year with a cross sector representation of people working with children and young people. It is a wonderful opportunity to network and promote your services whist also discovering new opportunities to collaborate within the sector and learning from local and national experts about children and young people’s mental health. Conference delegates will include school leaders and staff, local authority health and social care workers, third sector organisations, NHS and other public sector professionals.
Stall holder information can be found here. To book your stall you must also order a ticket for the event -stall options will appear at checkout.

Delegates will also have time to attend three, 45 minute workshops offering something for everyone. Delivered by experts in their field they are informative, inspirational and most importantly, applicable to your work with children and young people. This year we have three types of workshop available: In Focus, Break Out and Networking.
In Focus
Taking place in the main hall, these are delivered in lecture format, enabling us to deepen our knowledge of emerging and important issues identified in recent NHS youth mental health data on:
- sleep
- eco-anxiety
- eating disorders.
Break Out
Practical sessions with more space to explore:
- understanding neurodiversity
- cultural stigma and mental health
- top tips for navigating mental health services
- workplace toolkit to manage your mind and develop mental fitness
- wellbeing and creativity
- asking about suicide – why asking matters
- moving on from Covid: Supporting families to manage difficult feelings
- top tips for transitions
- supporting LGBTQI+ young people
- wellbeing and forest school
- early years insights
- trauma informed classrooms.
Networking
Youth in Mind is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people working in your field, deepen existing connections and discover new ways of working together. In 2022 we have built in facilitated networking opportunities to support you and your organisation to be better connected to your peers:
- Unconference networking

- Speed Meets networking.
